Advances to the CHSAA City Championship!
The varsity team, following a victory against Cathedral
Prep, advanced to the CHSAA City Championship last night at Mount St. Michael. The game will be played at 6pm on Friday,
March 5 against rival Blessed Sacrament. To purchase tickets in advance, contact us at 914-632-0248. Tickets purchased here
in advance are $5. Admission at Fordham is $8.
Salesian High School Announces Construction of a New Gymnasium
At the Thanksgiving school Mass this past November, Salesian High Director/President Fr. Pat Angelucci, surprised
everyone by announcing that a NEW GYM will be built for Salesian
High students. It will be located at the site of the outdoor basketball courts, between the school building and what
will soon be called the "old gym." The fifteen thousand square foot building, named after the Salesian’s
legendary Basketball Coach and Athletic Hall of Fame inductee Br. James Wiegand, SDB,
is designed by The General Steel Corporation and will house a regulation size basketball court, bleacher seating for the entire
student body, a wrestling room, a strength and conditioning center, locker/shower facilities and office space. The architect's
renderings of the new gym are shown below.
